Blaze was surrendered to the rescue as a litter surrender, he is 11 weeks old. He is up to date on all of his shots and has no known health issues. However he is not neutered and a spay/neuter contract will need to be signed to adopt him to ensure the safety of the pup. The Maltese is one of the oldest known dog breeds, originating from Malta and believed to date back as early as 500 BC. They are affectionate, playful, friendly, intelligent, and loyal, making excellent companions for families, first-time dog owners, and apartment dwellers. Maltese are non-shedding and hypoallergenic, they get along well with older children and other pets when properly socialized, and have most of their exercise needs met through indoor play, short walks, and time with their family. They respond best to positive reinforcement, praise, patience, and consistency rather than harsh corrections, and early puppy classes can help establish good manners. Their beautiful white coat requires brushing every couple of days to prevent tangles and mats, along with professional grooming about every 8 weeks to keep their coat healthy and well maintained.
